Tim, happy birthday. The picture of the sculpture is impressive and I like the pictures of the coast. It looks like orchids or ferns found a place to grow on the entrance arch to the church.
Tim, I think you missed your calling and should have been a travel writer! Your posts are bringing back many great memories of our last trip there. Since you mentioned Hawaii 5 0, the reason we went to Hawaii last time was to celebrate my cousin’s and my 50th birthdays. Yes we called it the Hawaii 5 0 trip. We couldn’t resist it 😁.
Sorry Ali! For my January trip I knew you’d be busy with the wedding, so didn’t want to bother you. And after that I just dropped the ball. Ugh! I’m glad you checked back in! I hope you enjoy it!
Wow…what a finale!
The photos of Easter Island were amazing. The final accommodations (food, quilt on the bed) looked great also. Thank you for keeping a journal of your trip. It was fun to ‘travel’ with you from the comforts of our living room:-).
Hi John & Julie! Great to hear from you! Right, regarding the clothes. You think it would get warmer as I travel closer to the equator. It’s the elevation that’s cooling things down. It’s a nice change actually.
Hi John & Julie! In Bariloche and Puerto Varas the living is both. Mainly because they’re small towns. And yes, Bariloche very much reminds me of Switzerland (including the chocolates!). Puerto Varas was founded by the Germans, so that country has a major influence there. Thanks for your comments. It’s great to hear from you!
Hello Tim,
John and I are enjoying both your words and photos. Besides the beautiful architecture, the photos of your everyday surroundings are great. The deep blue skies, plates of food and interiors are so much fun to see. (John wanted me to mention that he needed to look up some of your words:-).
Is there a way to see an overall map of your whole journey with a line that shows progress made? Might be fun to monitor. Take care.
Julie
We thoroughly enjoyed your first posts. They look like it took considerable time to prepare.
Your food pictures looked so good, we had to make chicken and rice for dinner tonight. One question came to mind; almost all of the pictures did not have very many people on the streets. How come? Looking forward to your future posts. L&X
Hi Linda & X! Thanks for your comments. Funny about the chicken & rice! Good question regarding the lack of people. It actually seems rather busy here. I think it’s a case where I try to take the pictures with minimal people in the shot.
Enjoyed the pics and the narrative! The “Menu” needs some work as it only lists the “Blog” and is not intuitive as to leaving comments unless you open it. Maybe if you use your Blog to describe how you decided on the trip; setting up the arrangements, and/or some of the nuances of the trip that are in addition to your pic comments. Maybe some comments on the people in the area?
That’s all for now!!!

Thanks Georgina! And great observation!

Ha Ha!! Thanks for your comments Xavier & Linda! And for your Hawaii tips!
Hi UT! I didn’t realize that you were continuing with the journal — I have a lot to catch up on! Looking forward to reading!

Hi John & Julie! Thanks for all your comments! I’m glad you enjoyed the journal.
Surprised to see coats and long sleeves. Yes…rest and hydration(if possible:-).

Do people live in town or around towns? I am surprised by the strong European influence. Also, enjoying the cost breakdown.
Waterfalls…beautiful!

Thanks Julie & John! Great to hear from you! I’m thinking about an Argentinian-themed dinner tonight.

Thanks Mo!
Tim: Just checking in on your pix today. Wow! Stunning! Had no idea Ecuador transacts with US currency. Keep up the good work. Stay well.

Hi Julie & John! Thanks for the note. Interesting idea regarding the map. I’ll definitely investigate that.
